The AFC are betting favorites in 2011 Pro Bowl odds and NFL picks vs the NFC on Sunday.

The 2011 Pro Bowl will take place on Sunday, January 30th from Honolulu, Hawaii with the AFC vs the NFC one week before Super Bowl XLV takes place in Texas with the Steelers vs Packers from Cowboys Stadium. FOX will televise the game from Aloha Stadium with a kick-off time scheduled for 7:00pm EST. Pro Bowl odds at sportsbooks have listed the NFC conference as 1-point road favorites vs the AFC with a high scoring over/under betting total of 62.5. The money line at sportsbooks has also listed the NFC -115 betting favorites in NFL picks with the AFC -105 underdogs for Sunday’s game in Hawaii. Let’s take a look at the rosters and offensive starters (*) for this year’s Pro Bowl and what they have accomplished this season.

Thanks to many injuries and Super Bowl XLV that will be played the following week, Pro Bowl rosters for both squads have changed slightly and will feature many replacement players. Although the AFC are slight underdogs in 2011 Pro Bowl odds vs the NFC, they will feature a trio at quarterback that accumulated over 13,000-yards this season in Tom Brady (Patriots)*, Philip Rivers (Chargers) and Peyton Manning (Colts). Behind QB isn’t too shabby either with Maurice Jones-Drew* (Jaguars), Arian Foster (Texans) and Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) who have together rushed for nearly 5,000-yards and 26-touchdowns this season. Sportsbooks expect Sunday’s game to be close one in NFL picks, so looking at the money line on the AFC could have some betting value with wide receivers Andre Johnson* (Texans), Reggie Wayne* (Colts), Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs) and Brandon Lloyd who averaged almost 1,300-receiving yards with 10-touchdowns this year.

The return of Michael Vick* (Eagles) left many defenses heading back to the drawing board this season which is why he was named as the starting quarterback on the NFC roster followed by Matt Ryan (Falcons) and Drew Brees (Saints). The three QB’s combined for 11,343-passing yards with 82-touchdowns this season and the main reason why the NFC are only 1.5-point underdogs in 2011 Pro Bowl odds. Michael Turner* of the NFC South champion Atlanta Falcons will get the start at the running back position while the beast known as Adrian Peterson (Vikings) and Steven Jackson (Rams) will also carry the ball. The three running backs have rushed for almost 4,000-yards with 30-touchdowns this season. Roddy White* (Falcons), Calvin Johnson* (Lions) and DeSean Jackson (Eagles) will get the start on Sunday as wide receivers while Larry Fitzgerald (Cardinals) will also get to play with Greg Jennings (Packers) playing in the Super Bowl.
