"Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman's next big screen adventure finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah", reads Warner Bros.'s press release.

Besides, Steve frickin' Trevor is back, back, back, and while his welcome return may defy logic, there's no denying Chris Pine's chemistry with Gadot. Yep, Chris Pine will be reprising his role as Wonder Woman's love interest, Steve Trevor, though we're not sure in what capacity. Returning director Patty Jenkins co-wrote the script with Geoff Johns (who contributed to the original film's story).

"Ever since I got any success in Hollywood and people asked me what I was interested in doing and I noticed no one had made 'Wonder Woman, '" she said.

As previously announced, the film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal. Pictures' follow up to the Super Hero's first outing, last summer's record-breaking "Wonder Woman", which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office.

"Wonder Woman 1984" opens in theaters November 1, 2019.

In the 2017 Wonder Woman film, the military pilot gives up his own life to prevent a German gas attack, so how exactly he returns for the sequel is still a mystery.
