The term "baby daddy" is often applied to a man who fathers a child but then refuses to stay with his mother.

Target is apologizing after customers complained about an offensive greeting card that was sold in its stores ahead of Father's Day.

American Greetings had the foolish idea to create a card that read "Baby Daddy" - for Father's Day. "It's not sweet or nice".

Frustration with the cards first started approximately 2 weeks ago when Facebook user Takeisha Saunders posted a photo of the card.

American Greetings, which manufactured the card, also issued an apology. Saunders wrote alongside the picture of the card.

Target doesn't manufacture the cards and American Greetings was not available for a comment, but Saunders hope to shed light on why the card upset her.

'It's a term used to describe a deadbeat or absent parent. "It's never our intent to offend any of our guests".
