Just Cause 4 announcement leaked via Steam

Just Cause 4 accidentally shows up on Steam storefront

I hope my scepticism about that is proven wrong, and perhaps the inevitable reveal trailer for Just Cause 4 will help to alleviate some of those concerns, because I need more to go on than just an angry man staring at the thunder with murderous intent.

Thanks to Steam's news section; the pop-up window that greets users when they launch the app, Just Cause 4 has been confirmed real. Very little else is shown on the advert other than the protagonist standing in a jungle during a lightning storm.

The fourth entry in the long-running Just Cause series was one of the many unannounced games that appeared on the Walmart Canada website last month. Square Enix will host its E3 2018 press conference on June 11, so we can expect its announcement there as they'll be publishing the game.

It was expected to be announced at E3, with speculation that Avalanche New York would be developing the game.

Upon clicking the listing, the front page does a refresh instead of taking you to the game's store page.

Avalanche Studios has yet to comment on the Just Cause 4 leak, but there's virtually no scenario where the ad is fake.

Citing people familiar with the matter, British freelance video game journalist Jim Sterling reported Square was "convinced" that the age of console gaming was coming to an end along with other video game publishers.

Avalanche Studios can't catch a break, can it?

What developer Avalanche Studios would much rather we be talking about right now is Generation Zero.
