Few Storm Chances For Monday

Brad's forecast | Severe storms possible Monday afternoon

Another round of storms will move through Monday with high temps in the upper 80s after starting the work week in the mid 60s. An isolated storm can't be ruled out this afternoon mainly to the southeast along I-44. There will be a 50% chance through the day with the possibility of a thunderstorm but as of now we are not expecting those to go severe.

A large storm complex is moving through IL this morning and looks to five our way by late morning in our northernmost communities and close to 12-1 p.m.in the metro. Temperatures will top off this afternoon in the mid to upper 80s with the heat index at 90+ for most. Our drier air will remain place, reducing but not eliminating rain chances.

Tomorrow will hold the chance for storms in all day due to model differences in the timing of rain.

Between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, the Omaha, Council Bluffs, Lincoln and southwest Iowa areas will be under a moderate risk for heavy rain, hail and strong winds. The rain chance decreases to 30 percent tonight.

A brief burst of higher humidity with scattered showers and storms rolls in here Wednesday before getting swept out to sea Thursday.
