LeBron James and Stephen Curry say whoever wins the NBA final will decline any invitation to the White House

At a news conference on Tuesday, James told reporters, "I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite anyway".

Curry raised Trump's ire a year ago when he said he wouldn't go to the White House, prompting the President to disinvite him and the champion Golden State Warriors.

Earlier this week President Trump drew fire after he canceled the Philadelphia Eagles' trip to Washington, D.C to celebrate the team's Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots. Now, with the winners of the 2018 NBA Playoffs still up in the air, Trump is taking precaution by pre-disinviting whoever ends up being the championship team. "I mean, we'll see", Trump said.

LeBron James has no interest in any White House party with US President Donald Trump.

He said: "If they want to be here, it's the greatest place on Earth". But he adds: "If they don't want to be here, I don't want them".

Trump said Friday that the Washington Capitals, who clinched the Stanley Cup on Thursday night, are likely to be invited.

"I think what you're seeing is, I think the athletes are showing patriotism through their community service", he said, alluding to the good deeds athletes do when they're away from the field.

Fans chime in on disagreement between Eagles, White House
The decades-old tradition of sports champions visiting the White House could be in jeopardy, at least for the next couple years. Trump's tool of football patriotism has become politically potent as it accelerated the decline in NFL viewership last season.

New Jersey State Trooper stops retired officer who delivered him
A stunned Patterson extended his hand and told Bailly he was the baby the retired officer delivered on October 5, 1991. Trooper Patterson, Bailly, and both of their families were "ecstatic" about the reunion, officials wrote.

"I'm pretty sure the way we handled things past year, (we will) kinda stay consistent with that", Curry said Tuesday when asked whether the Warriors would skip the visit should they win this time. President Trump has officially announced that this year's National Basketball Association champion will not be welcome at the White House.

"It will be nice when we can just get back to normal in three years, " Kerr said.

Earlier this week, the White House canceled a ceremony with the defending National Football League champions Philadelphia Eagles.

"It's typical of him", James said of Trump. "It won't be Cleveland or Golden State going", James said.

"By not going, hopefully that will inspire some change in terms of what we tolerate in this country", Curry said.

"Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Males or females have the right to do what they want to do", he continued.
