After 60 years, the restaurant chain became "IHOb" and the "b" stands for "burgers". Darren Rebelez, the president of IHOP, explained the re-branding and put restaurant-goers at ease in a statement.

In a recent press release, IHOP announced that it's "flipping" the P in its name to a b in an effort to roll out their new burger-based menu. Pressed for details, the company would not give an end date for IHOb but referred to the "tongue-in-cheek name change" and said it was tied to the summer burger promotion.

The name change won't last that long, and most of the restaurants will still go by IHOP, but the company changed signs and its Twitter handle.

IHOP, The International House of Pancakes, announced Monday Morning that it is changing its name to IHOB and in a tweet revealed what the "B" is for. "We're always going to be IHOP", he said moments after saying they weren't IHOP.

IHOb is offering special deals on the new burgers included on its menu for a limited time. Fans immediately took to the video, already giving it 13,000 views as well as 650-plus comments within just an hour of being posted. It remains to be seen whether the change will be permanent or merely a flash in the pan (cake) to promote hamburgers.
