This Raccoon Climbing A Skyscraper Has Everyone Really Stressed Out

'MPR raccoon' scales UBS Tower in St. Paul

Raccoon captured on roof of UBS Tower in St. Paul, Minnesota after thousands follow animal's 23-story climb on social media. The building's formal name is UBS Plaza.

Laurie Brickley, St. Paul Department of Safety and Inspection spokesperson confirmed traps are on the roof, ready for the raccoon.

When she reached the 23rd floor, the raccoon had second thoughts and made a brief attempt to climb back down, before turning around and heading up again.

It captivated onlookers and generated huge interest on social media after it started scaling an office building. "We're working with staff & building owner to find a way to help #MPRraccoon without further endangering it or staff by scaring or making it feel threatened", he tweeted.

The animal appeared to start climbing down the building as nightfall arrived, but was soon spotted reversing course.

The creature's climb attracted the attention of the internet and was soon dubbed the #MPRRaccoon, a reference to the Minnesota Public Radio station, which is located in the building across from the one the raccoon tried to climb.

Trump to depart from Singapore one day early
Pompeo, the former Central Intelligence Agency director, spent the morning preparing with his top advisers, aides said. But even before then, Trump and Kim could emerge from their meetings on Tuesday declaring a second day of meetings.

The raccoon will be collected and released later by animal welfare.

A raccoon that became an internet sensation by scaling a 20-storey office tower in the USA has been safely trapped and released back into the wild. Wildlife Management Services provides animal control services for St. Paul.

It was dubbed the #MPRraccoon because Minnesota Public Radio, whose offices are in a nearby building, documented the animal's long, unusual trip. Were you even aware that there was a raccoon who spent the better part of Tuesday, and some of Wednesday, climbing to the top of a skyscraper in downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota?

The building's windows don't open, so assistance won't be easy.

She reached the roof just before 3am on Wednesday, apparently unable to resist the scent of wet cat food that was waiting for her in a raccoon trap set by Wildlife Management Services.
