Hurricane Bud

At 1300 GMT, Bud was 380 kilometers (235 miles), southwest of Manzanillo, packing sustained winds of 185 kilometers (115 miles) an hour, Mexico's national weather service said.

Bud is packing 130 miles per hour winds and moving northwest at 7 miles per hour, the NHC said.

At the very least, it will move into the Gulf and give us a very heavy rain potential in southeast Texas.

The National Hurricane Center says there is a 10% chance of development within 2 days and a 20% chance within 5 days.

The 2015 season began with Category 4 Hurricane Andres followed by Category 4 Hurricane Blanca, the record-earliest-in-season second eastern Pacific hurricane and major hurricane, which later became the record-earliest Baja California landfall, as a tropical storm.

These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions. It could also drop 3 to 6 inches (8 to 15 centimeters) of rain in Mexico causing flash floods and mudslides. A tropical storm watch has been posted for portions of Mexico's west coast.
