Multiple injuries have been reported following a school bus crash in Mount Olive, New Jersey. The front end of the bus appeared to be crushed or ripped off, and it was sheared off its undercarriage. Photos from the scene: The bus was said to be occupied with 40 to 46 people at the time, with students from East Brook Middle School in Paramus.

Mount Olive police said family members of those involved in the crash should contact Paramus Police at 201-262-3400. A fifth-grade class trip from the district was scheduled for Waterloo Village, a historic site about 5 miles away from the crash scene.

The front of the bus is mangled and the vehicle is missing its wheels.

All westbound lanes are presently closed. Multiple ambulances responded to the scene.

UPDATE- On I-80 eastbound, right and center lanes reopened near Exit 25 - Rte.

School bus and truck collide on New Jersey highway

The school bus had markings for the Paramus School District.

"There's an incredible emergency response from throughout Morris County and by State Police".

A spokesperson said patients are being taken to Morristown and Hackettstown Medical Center, but it is not known how many.

State police are investigating if there were any fatalities and injuries in the incident on Interstate. "I can only describe it as horrific", Greenbaum said.
