Google adds new gestures and pairing features to Pixel Buds

Google I/O 2018 saw a number of cool new announcements from the company which related to all of their products.

Google has announced it's rolling out three new features for Pixel Buds. This is a long-awaited feature for heavy music listeners as speaking to Assistant was previously the only way to jump to the next song.

For those unfamiliar, the Google Pixel Buds are the official Google-branded wireless earbuds.

Japan's economy shrinks for first time in two years
However, there are concerns that trade friction with the U.S. could affect demand for exports. It ended the longest straight period of uninterrupted growth since the late 1980s.

Now, Google is adding even more supported gestures via an over-the-air software update.

Double tap: Until now, double tapping let you hear notifications as they arrived on your phone. You can continue to use a Google Assistant voice command to skip tracks, even if you assign two taps to the "next" track feature.

As we spotted in an APK Insight earlier this year, the first new gesture is a triple-tap on the right earbud to manually turn on/off the Made by Google headphones. Simply double tap the right earbud will skip the now playing song, so it's a great way to navigate through a playlist without needing to take out your phone. Google has also updated the pairing of the Pixel Buds where users can now switch between devices easily just by selecting it from the Bluetooth menu on the device you want to connect to.
