Punjabi singer Parmish Verma shot at in Mohali, Gangster takes credit for attack

Punjabi star Parmish Verma was shot along with a friend in Mohali on Friday night.

Both Verma and his friend are out of danger and are now undergoing treatment in a private room in Fortis Hospital. The singer will soon start shooting for the Punjabi remake of Ajay Devgn's Singham, where he will portray the main character. "A bullet hit his leg", said Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Chahal.

"I Dilpreet Singh Dhahan want to inform you all that I opened fire at Parmish". It stopped in front of his auto near Sector 74 of Mohali and fired shots at him.

Along with the post, the gangster also shared a selfie with his pistol and another photo of the singer with a red cross drawn across it.

In a Facebook post, the gangster said that Mr Verma had "tried his best to escape, but eventually suffered".

Police investigation is underway, following which they will take statements from the injured. The gangster also said that Verma was "lucky to be alive". Although Verma and his friend were injured in this attack, they managed to speed away from the spot. Punjab Police is investigating two gangsters who claimed responsibility on Saturday for the attack. The hit song has garnered over 118 million views on YouTube. Dilpreet is accused in another murder in Chandigarh where he along with two other people had shot and killed a sarpanch of a village in April previous year in sector 38 in broad daylight. Besides his recently released single "Shada" is also topping the charts since its release.
