The desktop class CPUs compete head-to-head with Intel's latest 8th generation processors.

Since AMD's Ryzen 2000 CPUs aren't available yet, we expect to see even higher clock speeds from other overclockers soon.

KitGuru Says: Ryzen 2nd Gen is just around the corner. "Every 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ 7 processor now comes with an illuminated Wraith cooler", the company announced in its main Ryzen webpage. All new CPUs will run on the AMD X470 chipset, with support for StoreMI technology. The CPUs are up for pre-orders on major etailers around the world, starting from April 13th, while the sale starts from April 19, 2018.

These four new models represent the new offers from AMD to give PC users "disruptive levels" of computing performance at their respective price points, which are generally much lower compared to the equivalent, closest-performing counterpart from Intel.

2700X - eight cores, 16 threads, 20MB of cache.

The Ryzen 7 2700X has a maximum boost frequency of 4.3GHz via Extended Frequency Range 2 (XFR2), while the Ryzen 5 2600X tops out at 4.2GHz. The new model is also competitively priced to go against Intel's Core i7-8700K, which is being sold for around $350.

The new Ryzen 7 2700X is an 8 core 16 threads CPU with a base clock of 3.7 GHz and a boost clock of 4.3 GHz. Famed overclocker der8auer previously reached 5905 MHz using a Ryzen 5 1600X. The 2600 has a combined cache of 19 MB and has a lower TDP value of 65 W. The CPU comes with a Wraith Stealth cooler.

AMD Ryzen 2nd generation is due to release imminently, but it appears the chip is already breaking overclocking records. It's still a six-core processor with 12 threads, and capable of a max boost speed of 3.9 GHz. The 2600X and 2600 in the Ryzen 5 range are priced at Dollars 229 (INR 14,932) USD 199 (INR 12,975), respectively. For those willing to hold out for now, the Zen 2 design is expected to come out next year.
