Nikolai Glushkov a Russian exile and former associate of the late oligarch Boris Berezovsky has reportedly been found dead at his home in London

Nikolai Glushkov a Russian exile and former associate of the late oligarch Boris Berezovsky has reportedly been found dead at his home in London

Terror cops are now investigating Glushkov's death after he was discovered just before 11pm last night in leafy New Malden.

Nikolai Glushkov, who received political asylum in the United Kingdom, was found dead at his London home on Monday by friends and family.

Britain's counter-terrorism police, which is leading an investigation into the attack in Salisbury on former double agent Sergei Skripal, said it was investigating the death of a man in his 60s in Kingston in southwest London but did not identify him.

A Russian businessman who was associated with a prominent critic of the Kremlin has died in London, his lawyer says.

It added that there was "no evidence to suggest a link to the incident in Salisbury".

Glushkov said: "You have the deaths of Boris and Badri over a short period of time". In 1999, Glushkov was charged with money laundering and fraud after Berezovsky fell out with Russian President Vladimir Putin and fled to Britain. It didn't release his name, saying formal identification had yet to take place. "A post-mortem examination will be held in due course", the source added. "If there is a change in the status of the investigation, an update will be provided", the Met said.

Chiefs expected to sign WR Sammy Watkins to 3-year, $48M deal
So the Rams knew Watkins would be exposed to free agency, and likely lured away with big money based on his potential. During his three seasons with the Bills , he totaled 153 receptions, 2,459 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.

The news was confirmed Tuesday on Facebook by Moscow Times board member Damian Kudryavtsev, who was close to both Glushkov and Berezovsky.

In the 1990s, Glushkov worked for the state airline, Aeroflot, along with Berezovsky's LogoVaz auto company.

Billionaire and business oligarch Berezovsky later ran afoul of the Kremlin when he publicly denounced Putin and brought a lawsuit against his ally, fellow billionaire Roman Abramovich. His death was not treated as suspicious, but his friends were not convinced and a coroner later recorded an open verdict.

Glushkov had said at the time that he did not believe Berezovsky died of natural causes.

In March last year, he was sentenced to eight years in prison in absentia and issued a one million Russian Ruble fine for allegedly defrauding Aeroflot of $122 million during his tenure as finance director there in the late 1990s.
