Official notes were sent to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad and the External Affairs Ministry in New Delhi last week, according to Pakistani media.

Indian High Commissioner Ajit Bisaria on February 16 complained to Pakistan Foreign Secretary against multiple incidents of "hooliganism" against Indian personnel and their properties. Indian diplomats and families, sources said, continue to reside in different parts of Islamabad, compromising their security and safety.

The Pak high commission alleged that the children were harassed and blocked by Indian authorities while on way to school. They also revealed that Indian diplomats are getting the same treatment in Pakistan. Sources said Indian diplomats and officials in Islamabad were being subjected to increased hostility, harassment and intimidation and this had been intimated to Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"For psychological intimidation, videos and photographs of the children were constantly made for 40 minutes, leaving the children extremely traumatised". They were followed up to their residence.

Following the recent escalation in incidents of such nature, sources said the Pakistani diplomats, their children and families were finding it hard to stay in New Delhi due to the intimidating behaviour of the Indian authorities.

Pakistan said at least three of its diplomats, and several of their children, had been harassed in recent days.

Children of a Pakistani diplomat were subjected to harassment in the second incident as the vehicle they were travelling in was intercepted on a busy highway of the Indian capital.

On Monday, March 12, Pakistan's ISI raided a residential complex for Indian diplomats in Islamabad.

On March 9, Pakistan alleged that its naval adviser's vehicle was "aggressively chased", while its political counselor was "forcibly evicted from a cab" by unidentified men, who then threatened him.

"The total apathy and failure of the Indian government to put a halt to these despicable incidents, sparing not even young children, indicates both a lack of capacity to protect foreign diplomats posted in India or a more reprehensible, complicit unwillingness to do so", he maintained.

Singh was summoned after Pakistani newspaper Dawn quoted Pakistani officials of accusing India of harassing its diplomats and their families in the country and threatened to pull out the families if the intimidation did not stop.

In reply, government sources in New Delhi said that Indian deplomats in Islamabad were being regularly tailed and intimidated.
