Microsoft expands cloud services in Europe and into Middle East

While the company still plans to offer specialized services from its German cloud, demand from both companies and public authorities for services from Microsoft Cloud Deutschland has been low.

Microsoft is opening two cloud data centers in Germany at a cost running to more than 100 million euros ($120 million), two news publications reported on Tuesday, citing industry sources. In addition, Microsoft Cloud services in France have reached general availability with Microsoft Office 365 today, and Dynamics 365 will follow in early 2019.

Hashish also announced that Etisalat Digital will be working closely with Microsoft as a Cloud Solutions Provider, offering integrated connectivity with Microsoft ExpressRoute as well as private cloud services using Azure Stack. This new cloud offering will complement the options now available for customers today.
