It appears Trump was responding to a tweet from Todd on Saturday afternoon directly replying to the president's calls of fake news

"Meet the Press, a show now headed by sleepy-eyes Chuck Todd", Trump told the rapturous crowd.

The Republican paused, then called the news anchor a "sleeping son of a bitch".

"It creates a challenge to all parents when he uses vulgarities like that", he continued. "Many people, including myself, raise their kids to respect the office of the presidency and the president of the United States". "I don't allow them to say anything negative, ever, about the president".

"I've been with the president and, and at campaigns".

"He's using these vulgarities in the context of a campaign rally and obviously there were a lot of amusing moments on... that rally", Mnuchin told Todd.

But Todd acknowledged that the the president has remade the presidency in his own image, and he's not likely to change.

Trump critic Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., said the president's comments were setting a risky precedent. "This is exactly the presidency he said he was going to have, that he was going to do things differently, disrupt Washington, make the establishment insane, make the media angry", he said.

Tom Brokaw, a former anchor of "NBC Nightly News", defended his Peacock network colleague.

Bonaventure 82-70 in the second semifinal as senior guard Peyton Aldridge had 24 points and freshman guard Kellan Grady had 23. After Newkirk tied it with a basket on the next possession, Russell connected on a 3 to give the Rams the lead for good.

"He's a sleeping son of a bitch, I'll tell you", Trump said during a speech in Moon Township, Pa.

'Explain that to your children, ' he added. On the show, Todd welcomed Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and asked him for his thoughts on Trump's comments.

'Don't miss @MeetThePress tomorrow! Todd tweeted. "I know folks may be exhausted in the morning due to springing forward, so set those clocks and DVRs now before your eyes get too sleepy".

Trump, it appears, was already embroiled in a Twitter spat with Todd before he flew to Pennsylvania.

"Absolutely, we've been very clear on it", Mnuchin said in an exclusive interview with "Meet the Press" when asked if denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is still USA policy.

'They couldn't believe it.

"Yeah, they were hilarious", the host quipped sarcastically. Todd interrupted. "Don't worry about him as a role model?"
