US Spies Reportedly Paid $100000 To Russian Who Wanted To Sell Dirt on Trump

Letter: Why's Trump obsessed with Russia?

According to American and European intelligence officials, Americans spies reportedly paid $100,000 previous year to a man who promised to "deliver stolen National Security Agency cyberweapons" as well as "compromising material" on Trump after months of secret negotiations.

U.S. intelligence officials desperate to get back stolen cyberweapons reportedly paid $100,000 to a operative who claimed he was not only in possession of the hacking tools but had compromising information on President. Several American officials said they did not want the alleged information about Mr. Trump.

The $100,000 was paid in cash in a suitcase in a Berlin hotel room back in September and was supposed to be the first installment of a $1 million payout.

Desperate to retrieve the valuable NSA tools, USA intelligence worked with with said Russian via an American businessman in Germany, the report states.

The Times reports that the coveted cyberweapons were built to break into the computer networks of Russian Federation and China, but wound up in the hands of a mysterious group called the "Shadow Brokers".

The Times claimed it obtained four of the documents the Russian tried to give to American intelligence, noting that the newspaper did not pay for the documents.

"Asking price was $10 million, brought down to $1 million to be paid over time".

The Russian eventually delivered information that had been publicly released by the Shadow Brokers, and the Trump information he pushed was already in the public domain or dubious.

President Donald Trump sounded his campaign battle cry of "drain the swamp" again Saturday morning in response to an article about U.S. spies attempting to recover stolen United States cyberweapons.

The American spies ended "chasing the Russian out of Western Europe, warning him not to return if he valued his freedom", The Times reported, based on an account from the businessman, who is now said to have possession of the Trump "material" somewhere in Europe. Instead he persistently tried to provide various documents which he said were somehow related to Trump officials and alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign. The newspaper's sources say that after that, the Americans turned down their deal, because they were afraid to become part of the "Russian operation undermining the American government".

The negotiations abruptly ended early this year, after USA spies seemingly figured out they wouldn't be getting anything useful from the man and threatened him to go back to Russian Federation and never return. The Russian chose to leave.
