Jamie Anderson wins second Olympic slopestyle gold in dangerous conditions

The women's snowboard slopestyle event at the Winter Olympics continues to be plagued by the fierce winds blowing through Phoenix Snow Park with the final delayed on Monday.

Langland's railwork is impressive, but it's her style that makes her stand out from the competition. It turned out that Anderson, 27, needed only one: her first run netted a score of 83.00 - easily the best of the field, with the other podium finishers scoring around 72 and 74 points.

Laurie Blouin of Canada took silver, with Finland's Enni Rukajarvi finishing third.

Jessika Jenson, a 26-year-old from Idaho Falls, Idaho, finished fifth, with Hailey Langland, a 17-year-old Southern California native, in sixth place. Anderson is an Olympics veteran and a 2014 Sochi gold medalist in the slopestyle discipline.

Priest and worshippers hurt in sword attack in Indonesian church
The city, located about 500km south-east of Jakarta, is regarded as the cultural heart of Java, Indonesia's main island. Similar incidents have occurred in Indonesia in recent years.

The event was transformed into a two-run final after Sunday's qualification runs were canceled due to high winds. The circumstances cut the typical two-run qualifying format and three-run final down to a two-run final with all competitors riding.

Anderson took the second run even though she didn't need it to win and fell on a jump.

Anderson's gold marks Team USA's second gold medal of PyeongChang 2018 after snowboarder Red Gerard won gold over the weekend. Last month Anderson became the most decorated woman in X Games history with 15 medals, including five golds.
