Lamoureux-Davidson scored two goals in a 6-second span in a game against the Olympic athletes from Russian Federation.

Westfield's Kacey Bellamy opened the scoring for the U.S. Women's Hockey Team against the Olympic Athletes from Russia Tuesday - the first barrage in what was a dominant 5-0 win in preliminary round play at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The record was previously held by Sweden's Carl-Göran Öberg, who scored twice in eight seconds during the Squaw Valley Winter Olympics in 1960.

Up next for the Americans is an early showdown with their biggest rival on Thursday against Canada to wrap up the preliminary round. Bellamy scored off of a Lamoureux-Davidson assist.

Nicole Hensley made 13 saves in her Olympic debut as OAR was shut out for the second time in as many appearances.

For the US, it was a welcomed explosion after a too-close-for-comfort Olympic opening victory over Finland Sunday.

This time, they played athletes from Russian Federation competing under the Olympic flag after the country was banned from the games for revelations of a massive doping operation.

The Russians are the youngest team in the tournament, with less experience and nearly an entirely new roster from the team that played in four years ago in Sochi.

Neither team could generate much offense in the opening minutes.

Lamoureux-Davidson got involved after her sister, Monique Lamoureux-Davidson, took a shot from the right side of the ice.

Gisele Marvin followed Lamoureux-Davidson soon after with the fourth goal. Lamoureux-Davidson led all skaters with three points.

On the ensuing face-off, two OAR defenders misplayed the puck and No. 17 converted a breakaway to give the USA a three-goal advantage and create the memory of a lifetime.
