On a day it turned three, the Arvind Kejriwal government sought more administrative control over Delhi to run it without the Centres "interference", even though it is yet to fulfil key poll promises such as providing free Wi-Fi and installing CCTV cameras across the city.

At the start, Kejriwal said, "The people of Delhi voted for their next-door neighbours who had no political background and created a tremor in our politics. Within a year, roads and drains in all unauthorised colonies would be constructed".

Listing important projects for the coming financial year, Mr. Kejriwal said: "There will be massive investment in roads".

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday attacked the Centre's Narendra Modi government by alleging that the BJP was interested in keeping the masses uneducated so that they could only sell pakodas, fried Indian snacks.

He said whichever department digs up roads in the city will have to fix it irrespective of the land-owning agency.

Referring to the government files stuck with the Lt Governor, Kejriwal said the MLAs were forced to virtually camp at his residence whenever this happened.

He also said that he believed that all 1,000 Mohalla Clinics will be operational by end of the year.

Talking about the health sector, the former Union Minister said: "During Sheila Dikshit's government, Delhi got 14 hospitals and over 3,700 new beds were added". "Land for 786 Mohalla Clinics have been identified".

Speaking to a crowd of MLAs and officers on Wednesday, Mr. Kejriwal said Delhiites had undertaken an experiment three years ago by choosing "next door neighbours" and discarding existing parties. He also said that 120 polyclinics would be ready soon. On education, he said the number of students leaving government schools had gone up, belying the claims of improvement in their condition made by the Delhi government.
