Air Force Officer arrested for allegedly sharing information with ISI

Sources said Marwah had been honey-trapped online by the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) through two Facebook accounts in mid-December.

"During routine counter intelligence surveillance carried out by the IAF's Central Security and Investigation Team it was discovered that an officer was indulging in certain unwanted activities through unauthorized electronic devices, which is against existing orders", said a police official. "After talking to them on the social networking site for a while, they exchanged their phone numbers and started chatting on WhatsApp", an officer said. They also exchanged intimate messages. "During the interrogation, he disclosed before officers of Air Force intelligence wing that he was in touch with two women, and had passed on classified information about three new formations - Defence Cyber Agency, Defence Space Agency and a Special Operations Division - to them". Marwaha was allegedly using his smartphone to take pictures of classified documents at the IAF headquarters and sending them via WhatsApp. The information he shared was mostly about IAF training and combat exercises. The Air Force had approached the Delhi Police to investigate the case.

Arun Marwaha, 51, was produced before a court on Thursday that sent him to police custody for five days.
