Rochester's Polar Plunge is back, once again raising thousands of dollars for Special Olympics Minnesota.

This year, more than 60 people participated.

"We encourage teams, costumes and silliness", Overman said.

WXYZ's very own Ann Marie LaFlamme bravely took the plunge for a good cause.

"It's a great cause that us athletes can raise awareness for other athletes who want to be involved but might not have the same opportunities we have been afforded", said sophomore baseball player Connor Sullivan.

Special Olympics Arkansas supports 15,000 athletes across the natural state that compete and train year round in 20 different Olympic type sports.

The money raised from the event goes to support Special Olympics Kentucky.
