Poll Most Republicans think DOJ FBI trying to 'delegitimize' Trump

Trump urged the Democrats to "re-do and send back in proper form!"

While Republicans say their memo, orchestrated by Nunes and released with President Donald Trump's backing, demonstrates anti-Trump bias at the FBI and Justice Department that calls into question the entire Russian Federation investigation, Democrats say Republicans committed the very sin - omitting crucial facts - of which they accuse the FBI. Trump has until Friday to decide whether to allow the document to be made public or object to its release. It was published in full a week ago over the objections of the Justice Department.

In an interview that aired Tuesday evening, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), a member of the Intelligence Committee involved in crafting the Republican memo, floated a theory that Democrats purposefully wrote a memo that would need redactions so that they could then attack Trump's redactions as political censorship.

Redacting parts of the Democratic rebuttal, of course, would play right into Schiff's hands-an outcome Rep. Trey Gowdy suspects Schiff is setting up on goal.

The memo was released Friday after President Trump authorized its release.

After all the spin of Trump's opponents and major media types with a clear bias, those are the realities surrounding this memo.

While the memos release was originally thought to confirm a longstanding conspiracy theory involving the Russia Investigation being sparked by Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee paying off former Trump campaign aide Christopher Steele, the memo actually does no such thing.

The California Democrat said his biggest concern about the memo's potential release would be "political redactions".

Pence `Encouraged' by Talks With South Korea's Moon at Olympics
North Korea has a track record of dangling peace to wrangle concessions and aid from the West only to renege on its promises. But North Korea's record on human rights and the growing threat from its nuclear weapons program appeared out of mind.

The House Intelligence Committee was tasked with examining the FBI's handling of the probe into potential interference by Russian Federation in the 2016 presidential election. Republicans backed the release, but several said they thought it should be redacted. This gives credence to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's argument that the publication of raw government data or documents can help citizens prevent the erosion of democracy.

Meanwhile, the House Intelligence Committee has voted to make public the Democratic memo that would refute the GOP memo. It needs to be taken seriously and both Democrats and Republicans for the good of the nation.

However, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and other prominent Republicans in Congress say the Nunes memo is separate from the Mueller investigation and should not be seen as an attempt to undermine Mueller.

The recently released FISA memo outlines possible wrongdoing by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Justice Department in obtaining a warrant from the FISA court to spy on an American citizen connected with the Trump presidential campaign in 2016. He was working for the Fusion GPS opposition research firm and was paid by the Democratic National Committee and 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's campaign committee.

Politicizing a powerful federal agency is nothing new.

Democrats have countered that the GOP memo was inaccurate and a misleading collection of "cherry-picked" details.

"That was one piece of the puzzle that they had to basically show the court in order to get this FISA", Entous said.
