US Condemns Iran's Attempted Crackdown on Civil Unrest

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei

Iran's supreme leader has taken to Twitter to attack President Donald Trump, accusing the USA leader of attempting to stir unrest after a wave of protests hit his country.

"Once again, the nation tells the US, Britain, and those who seek to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran from overseas that 'you've failed, and you will fail in the future, too.'" Khamenei tweeted.

While the enemies of Islam and Iran magnify the limited protests of a number of young people to unemployment, the Iranian people with support of the supreme leader and the government, broke the enemy's conspiracy.

"We will not remain silent as the Iranian dictatorship represses the basic rights of its citizens and will hold Iran's leaders accountable for any violations", White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.
