NFC Divisional Playoff Notes: Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles

Two plays later, Ryan's final throw sailed through Jones' hands, and the Eagles were headed to next weekend's NFC championship game at home in Philadelphia.

The Falcons drove for what could have been a game-winning drive at game's end, but an Eagles defense that had not allowed a single point all season in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter stood tall.

NBC 10 will provide comprehensive coverage of Eagles Game Day, beginning with "Eagles Game Plan" at noon and followed by "Eagles Road to Victory" at 12:30 p.m., "Eagles Gameday Kickoff" at 1 p.m., "NBC 10 News Playoff Special" at 1:30 p.m. and "Football Night in America" at 3:30 p.m.

Devonta Freeman was held in check, but popped up to catch a six-yard dink over the top from Ryan and give Atlanta the lead once more.

Despite the doubters, Foles has confidence in himself and his team. The Falcons offense has yet to really click this season and that is why this game is a toss up. Jones had nine receptions for 101 yards. He was sacked three times and under constant pressure.

On a fourth-and-2 call with just over a minute remaining in a 10-15 divisional round game against the Eagles the Falcons called a play for their two best players: Matt Ryan and Julio Jones.

Israeli construction in West Bank derails peace process - Moscow
Two Palestinian teenagers were shot and killed by Israeli soldiers on Thursday as violence continues in the occupied territories. Witnesses said two dozen people approached the fence, setting a tire on fire and throwing stones.

Jay Ajayi's fumble on his first carry quieted the crowd.

The Eagles frankly were lucky to only be trailing 10-9 at halftime. "We've been in those situations during the regular season, so we kind of know how to handle those situations, not try to make a play but let the play come to us".

The nightcap features the AFC's top seed, the New England Patriots (13-3), and the No. 5 seed Tennessee Titans (10-7) at Foxborough, Massachusetts. Then, Blount ran it in on fourth-and-goal to take the lead in the second quarter.

"Obviously pretty much the whole season's on that play right there", said safety Malcolm Jenkins. Elliott missed the extra point, hitting the left upright.

But kicker Jake Elliott atoned at the end of the half. Ajayi rushed for 130 yards in a road victory over Atlanta as a member of the Miami Dolphins in October, and the Falcons ranked in the middle of the pack with an opponent yards-per-attempt average of 4.1. Foles' terrible overthrow should have easily been picked, but Neal mistimed the ball and it caromed off his knee and right into the hands of Eagles receiver Torrey Smith for a fluky 20-yard gain. It would be Atlanta that would open the scoring however, with Matt Bryant capping an 11-play, 59-yard drive with a 33-yard field goal with 9:08 remaining in the first quarter.

And after watching the first half against the Falcons that began with Foles throwing a pass woefully short and his best pass of the game being one that should have resulted in an interception, it's easy to see why.
