Leonardo DiCaprio to Join Family of Tarantino's Manson Movie

Leonardo DiCaprio To Star In Quentin Tarantino's New Movie

Variety has confirmed that Oscar victor Leonardo DiCaprio (The Revenant, The Departed) will reunite with his Django Unchained director Quentin Tarantino for his currently-untitled ninth movie, which will be released by Sony Pictures on August 9, 2019. Six years, the director and actor are teaming up once again, but this time it's for a very different kind of movie.

All of Tarantino's past work has been distributed by The Weinstein Company and, well...nobody wants that guy's name stuck on the front of their movie these days, so Quentin has shopped the film around Hollywood.

Coincidentally, the 54-year-old filmmaker is also after the Wolf of Wall Street's former leading lady Margot Robbie to play murder victim Sharon Tate in the Sony flick slated for release in 2019.

At the moment, no one is precisely sure regarding the details of the film, but supposedly it will take place in the summer of 1969 - the Summer of Love - during Manson's murder spree. DiCaprio played the main villain of that movie, Calvin Candie.

Whatever #9 is about, and whatever role Leo plays in it, it's looking as if Tarantino's new effort is set to blow our minds.

Variety also reports that Tarantino wrote a role specifically for Al Pacino.

The movie will be Leonardo's first movie since his role in The Revenant which won him his first Academy Award.

The film is being produced by Harry Potter's David Heyman, Tarantino and Shannon McIntosh, with Georgia Kacandes exec producer and line producer. On top of Brad Pitt, who is reportedly "circling" the project, Deadline is now reporting that Tarantino's Django Unchained co-star Leonardo DiCaprio has been tapped.
