Mina isn't on the same level in terms of transfer fee, though.

Barcelona has announced their second signing of the January window and no surprise, it's center back Yerry Mina.

The Colombian worldwide will be Barcelona's second signing of the January transfer window after Philippe Coutinho's 160 million-euro capture from Liverpool.

The Catalan giants have confirmed that they have paid €11.8m for the Colombian centre-back, with 23-year-old Mina agreeing a long-term contract until June 2023.

Yerry Mina Colombia

FC Barcelona have signed Colombia defender Yerry Mina from Brazilian club Palmeiras as he was one of the most sought-after defenders that club head coach Ernesto Valverde had his eye on for quite a while. "The buyout clause has been set at €100m".

Mina came through the ranks at Deportivo Pasto, before moving on to Santa Fe and then Palmeiras in 2016.

The transfer comes days after Barcelona finally won its bid for Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool. "The Colombian, who is joining from Palmeiras, uses his aerial prowess to impose himself and score goals".

Barcelona faces Celta Vigo at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Round of 16 in Copa del Rey action at Camp Nou in Barcelona.
