Only reliever Justin Grimm remained unsigned among the Cubs' players eligible for arbitration as of late Friday afternoon. Donaldson and Toronto agreed at $23 million, the largest one-year deal for an arbitration-eligible player.

The Cubs and third baseman Kris Bryant avoided arbitration Friday with a record deal, according to the Chicago- Sun-Times.
