Cindy Crawford Recreates Her Iconic Pepsi Ad Campaign for the Super Bowl

The latest campaign will be more lighthearted, offering a twist on a 1992 Super Bowl ad that starred Cindy Crawford. Now the brand is bringing back the supermodel to re-envision its famous campaign.

Twenty-six years after her iconic Pepsi commercial aired during the 1992 Super Bowl, Cindy Crawford is recreating the ad alongside her 18-year-old son Presley Gerber, Fox News reports.

Of the news, Crawford said in a press release, "To this day, people come up to me to talk about how much they loved my original Pepsi spot from '92".

Perhaps one of the most anticipated moments of the "Pepsi Generations" campaign is the return of supermodel Cindy Crawford. The ad will feature "celebrities of Pepsi's past and present" and include a new take on Crawford's 1992 Super Bowl Pepsi ad, PepsiCo said. It's exactly that sense of family and love that led Crawford to reunite with Pepsi for a new commercial.

The recently recreated commercial will air during the broadcast of Super Bowl 52 on February 4 with just a few changes to the original. Pepsi has created memorable moments across generations that have shaped culture and still generates interest from consumers today. Meanwhile, the company will roll out retro Pepsi packaging and bring back a loyalty programme, Pepsi Stuff, that was first launched in 1996. It's surprising to remember that Cindy's iconic commercial was part of the company announcing a new can design. This is the sixth consecutive year Pepsi has sponsored the halftime show.

The "Pepsi Generations" campaign also will include nostalgic pop-up exhibitions throughout the USA meant to celebrate the brand's (less controversial) "pop-culture milestones in Pepsi history". Justin Timberlake headlines the halftime show. Other nods to happier times in the Pepsi universe include limited-edition retro packaging, which will feature the brand's vintage logo on regular Pepsi products beginning January 29.

Pepsi will also present a series of pop-up exhibits in the USA throughout the year featuring pop-culture milestones in Pepsi history, guiding fans through the evolution of how Pepsi's history has connected with people over generations, kicking off at the Super Bowl with the presentation of the 2017 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year award. Pepsi Generations Live pop-up exhibits will guide fans through the evolution of how Pepsi's history has connected with people over generations. "I think Kaia will wear them one day".
