LG Display showed off a smaller 18-inch version of the rolling screen at CES past year. While it might not necessarily be there quite yet, and I expect Samsung will be working out any possible kinks in the coming months, MicroLED tech is filled with potential.

Despite not having many details on the TV, Samsung has confirmed on numerous occasions that the Q9S is a full, almost retail-ready television. At 146 inches of diagonal screen size, The Wall is nearly as big as most average walls, with its dimensions measuring in at 10 feet wide and 6 feet tall. LG Displays sells the technology directly to display manufacturers - they will decide if they want to use it for their own products. And you'll be able to buy it this year.

The display can also be put in a position with a 21:9 ratio, which is flawless for watching movies.

Congratulations to all the winners and to be updated throughout the show as we publish and link to in-depth looks at each product.

LG Display - an affiliate of LG Electronics - unveiled a sleek prototype of its latest rolling screen technology. Fortunately, that isn't the case thanks to Samsung's special MicroLED tech doing the heavy lifting. It's not backlit like an LCD TV.

So there you have it, next-generation electro-QLED technology has finally arrived and so far its specs indicate something that could blow both current LCD TVs and the best that OLED offers out of the water, if only we can soon start seeing more normal-sized versions of this monster TV on the market.

President of Visual Display Business at Samsung, Jonghee Han, said, "As the world's first consumer modular MicroLED television, "The Wall" represents another breakthrough". The technology actually uses many different LED modules stacked together, but it's borderless so you don't see seams between the different modules.

Samsung's The Wall is entirely bezel-less and because of this, the firm says, the screen can be made to whatever size you see fit. It's very similar to the technology used in scoreboards and jumbo screens but scaled for home use. But because it is modular, it is much easier to ship and install in a home compared to most of the other very large displays.
