The publication's editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal announced the selection Wednesday on the "Today" show, along with a cover showing actress Ashley Judd, singer Taylor Swift and former Uber engineer Susan Fowler. Kim Jong Un has drawn Trump's anger with repeated tests of missiles that could carry a nuclear weapon capable of hitting the US mainland or the nation's Asian allies.

The #MeToo movement represents the people, mostly women, who have fueled a worldwide discussion about sexual harassment and assault.

TIME's Person of the Year issue will be on newsstands on Friday.

Since 1927, TIME has bestowed its Person of the Year title upon an individual or group of people who the magazine's editors believe have most influenced news and events of the past year, "for good or ill".

The movement was described as the "Silence Breakers".

The list was unveiled in no particular order, kicking off with Bezos, who has vastly expanded the reach of his company Amazon over the past year on his way to becoming the richest man in the world, and the first to have a net worth of over $100 million.

The runner up for Person of the Year was President Donald Trump, followed by President of China, Xi Jinping.

After The New York Times and The New Yorker published accusations of sexual harassment and assault against Weinstein, many more women and some men came forward with allegations against others - including actor Kevin Spacey, comedian Louis C.K. and former NBC anchor Matt Lauer.

Also on Time's list is Robert Mueller, the special counsel probing the Trump campaign's possible ties to Russian Federation.

Next up were the Dreamers, whose plight has been the subject of much political discourse after President Trump and his administration revoked an Obama-era program meant to give the children who were born to illegal immigrants a path to citizenship in the United States. "Women have had it with bosses and co-workers who not only cross boundaries but don't even seem to know that boundaries exist".
