The Plateau State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Damishi Sango has been allegedly kidnapped, alongside four others in Jere, along the Kaduna/Abuja expressway.

The statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr John Akans, said: "While we trust the security agents to be on top of the situation, we invite the families of those involved, friends, associates and our members at all levels to remain calm and continue to pray for their safety and quick return". But at about 6p.m., when someone called one of the persons Sango travelled with, a policeman picked the call and told him (caller) that they found the phone in a vehicle abandoned on the road.

Akans confirmed that the kidnappers had contacted Sango's family and demanded N100m ransom. He was reportedly on his way to the PDP national convention that holds in Abuja on Saturday.

"Yes, it is true, the abductors of Hon Damishi T. Sango are demanding a ransom of N100m", he said.
