"I'm just playing with you, good job".

Brandon Ingram #14 of the Los Angeles Lakers (L) celebrates with Larry Nance Jr.

With under a second remaining on the clock, Ingram sized up a 3-pointer fresh off a nice Lonzo Ball dish to beat the 76ers 107-104 on the road.

He made a winning play. Philly won the first matchup in L.A. behind 46 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists from Joel Embiid and a near triple-double from Ben Simmons. With about a second remaining in the game, Ingram released a flawless arching three-pointer that swished through the net for the go-ahead basket with 0.8 seconds left in the game.

Embiid, who was an absolute monster on the night with a game-high 33 points, seven rebounds, six assists and a whopping five blocked shots, shared a moment with the father of Lakers rising star point guard Lonzo Ball. Overall, the Lakers' bench outscored the Sixers' bench 41 to 13.

Because the Lakers and Sixers played their two regular-season games against each other before the New Year, the National Basketball Association will likely have to wait another year before it gets to see this year's No. 1 and 2 draft picks face each other.

Trump signs proclamation for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day
On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed a proclamation honoring National Pearl Harbor Day . He said the attack was a "bad mistake of misjudging" America.

But the Lakers never fell behind, hanging on to break a losing streak and quiet their, and the Ball family's, dissenters.

After the crowd turned on LaVar, the Sixers responded with a 16-6 run, culminating with a dunk by Richaun Holmes to tie the score at 101 points - the first time the Lakers had relinquished the lead since the score was knotted at 15. Ball was so disappointed in his play, he went to the team's practice facility hours after that game to shoot instead of doing his usual post home game routine of re-watching the game. Booed in the first half nearly every time he touched the ball, Ball flirted with his third career triple-double.

But Simmons was better, compiling his third career triple-double well before the game was over. The show commenced when Ball was spotted in his suite waving his arms and riling up fans. Both rookies pass first, rebound and rather not shoot from the perimeter.

"I know I had a chance to", he said, "but I never really thought about it". "He doesn't let anybody tell him to get away from his stuff".

"I feel he plays the right way", Ball added.
