Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle DLC Adds Free PvP Mode, Out Tomorrow

Mario + Rabbids will get a new "Versus mode" tomorrow, enabling players to challenge a friend on the same system in what is essentially a strategy game with big restrictions. Unlike the game other modes, this Versus mode allows you to pick an all-Rabbids team or pick a trio exclusively from the Mushroom Kingdom.

Players can select a party of three heroes from the game's roster of eight, and apply one of three different skill and statistic load-outs. You've got to be particularly strategic with the way you plan out your moves, because less is more here. Notably, Versus mode will only provide three actions for players per turn. This new layer of strategy will ensure you need to keep an eye on what sort of power play your opponent is trying to set up.

Overall, Ubisoft says these Versus mode matches are created to pass quickly, with users having the additional option to set limits of 7 or 10 turns in addition to time limits.

Players can continue playing with good all-rounded started equipment load outs or specialize in one of the 16 unlockable variants. It's finally time to watch Mario and friends gun down their Rabbid doppelgangers. Contrary to the story mode, you're free to have a team of only Rabbids or only Mario characters. Let's not forget that Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will continue to expand via the Season Pass, set to bring more single-player content in the new year!
