Former Dem rep fired by Morgan Stanley after harassment investigation

The woman alleged that Ford engaged in harassment, intimidation, and forcibly grabbed her one evening in Manhattan, leading her to seek aid from a building security guard.

Ford, formerly of Memphis, was sacked for "conduct inconsistent with our values and in violation of our policies", according to a spokeswoman with the financial services firm, as quoted by HuffPost.

At least one woman was interviewed by Morgan Stanley as part of the investigation, the Huffington Post reported.

In her account, the woman, who is not identified in the story, said she and Ford were meeting for business reasons when the incident took place.

N. Korean missile risk leads airlines to change routes
The airline went on to state that it informed authorities and other carriers at the time. It is very unlikely that a plane would be hit by a random missile, though.

Afterward, Ford continued to email her and ask her out to drinks. She asked him not to contact her anymore, citing his inappropriate conduct the evening where he forcibly grabbed and harassed her. Ford replied to the email by apologizing and agreeing not to contact her.

An email to Morgan Stanley wasn't returned and Ford couldn't be reached immediately for comment. But it came after a woman who did not work at the firm accused Mr. Ford of acting inappropriately in a professional setting, according to a person briefed on the details of the allegations.

With the firing, Mr. Ford became the latest prominent man to lose his job amid heightened scrutiny of workplace behavior.

After leaving Congress, Ford has served in a couple of academic roles at Vanderbilt and New York University, and has appeared frequently as a guest and political expert on national television shows. Ford lost that hotly contested 2006 race by fewer than three points to current Republican Sen. He joined Morgan Stanley as a managing director and senior client-relationship manager in 2011 after a stint as a vice chairman and senior policy adviser at Bank of America. Ford Jr. replaced his father upon retirement and kept the seat for 10 years.
