Charlie Rose was sacked after multiple women accused him of sexual assault.

CBS has yet to name a replacement for Rose, who appeared on its morning show.

CNN chief global correspondent Christiane Amanpour will fill the empty spot left by Charlie Rose at PBS and NY public television affiliate WNET - at least, for now.

The half-hour "Amanpour on PBS" will air on New York's PBS station Thirteen on Monday in the 11 p.m. timeslot, and will be rolled out across PBS stations across the United States from December 11, the network said in a statement.

Christiane Amanpour's global affairs program will slot into the first half hour vacated after Charlie Rose was sacked from PBS.

"Christiane Amanpour is a fearless and uncompromising journalist", said Neal Shapiro, president and CEO of WNET. The program will continue to air on CNN International weekdays at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. eastern.

PBS added that it is finalizing plans for another public affairs show to follow Amanpour in the 11:30 p.m. timeslot.

PBS previously aired Charlie Rose in the same time slot since 1991.

NBC also has not yet named a replacement for Matt Lauer, who was sacked from the network last week when similar allegations against him broke. "Charlie Rose is produced by Charlie Rose, Inc., an independent television production company".

British-Iranian Amanpour is CNN's chief worldwide correspondent and has won numerous journalism accolades, including four Peabody awards and 11 Emmy awards for news and documentary. Her profile widened as she worked from eastern Europe and the Middle East for CNN in the 1980s and 1990s. She is also ABC's global affairs anchor.
