Briskman was sacked from her position in marketing for government contractor Akima LCC on Halloween after the picture of her showing middle finger to Trump's motorcade went viral.

"Thank you Juli Briskman", wrote Rob Mello, who set up the GoFundMe account, calling her "an inspiration to us all".

Briskman, 50, was riding her bike near her home in Sterling, Virginia on October 28 when the president's motorcade passed, having just left Trump National Golf Club.

In last one week, the campaign has raised more than $ 70,000 and says it aims to raise a total of $100,000 for Briskman.

At the time, the 50-year-old said she was escorted from the building and told by her bosses that they wanted her to be professional.

Recalling the unlikely furore which took place on her standard cycling route, the mother of two said she became incensed when she set eyes on the United States president's motorcade coming up beside her. "You can show your support by donating here".
