Paul Joyce of the Times has this afternoon revealed the financial details of Everton's offer to Watford for manager Marco Silva.

Watford are four points and six places ahead of Everton, who sacked Ronald Koeman last month and are being led by under-23 boss David Unsworth.

The Portuguese nearly pulled off a miracle by keeping Hull in the Premier League last season before switching to Watford, where he has also started well.

Hornets top brass hold all the cards as there is no release clause in the Portuguese boss's two-year contract and the club will not even discuss compensation.

Bombardier gets second customer for its C series jet in a month
At the Dubai Airshow on Tuesday, EgyptAir signed a letter of intent for 12 firm and 12 optional C Series CS300 aircraft. Cromer said both sales had already being under negotiation and were not the result of the Airbus venture.

Representatives of the Merseyside club's majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, contacted the Hertfordshire club on Monday morning but were told Silva will not be allowed to leave Vicarage Road this season.

White also added that Silva would in fact have been interested in speaking to the board at Goodison Park if a deal was to have been reached between the sides, but that Watford knocked back the approach without a second thought.

The Hornets do not wish to entertain any further approaches as they are adamant they can not lose a coveted manager halfway through a campaign.

Since parting ways with Dutchman Ronald Koeman towards the end of last month, the Toffees - now in the hands of David Unsworth on an interim basis - have been linked with a number of possible replacements, such as Sam Allardyce, Sean Dyche and Diego Simeone.
