HBO Removes Louis CK Concerts, Says He Won't Appear on Show

Louis C.K. in Louie

"These stories are true", said the writer, actor and stand-up comedian in a statement released to USA media a day after America's most prestigious newspaper published accusations from the women saying that he masturbated or asked to masturbate in front of them or on the telephone in separate incidents dating from the late 1990s to 2005. I'd suggest, though, that the news about C.K. puts us in touch with a sickening truth: In a sad way, his work makes even more sense to me now than it did when I first saw it.

In the wake of the scandal, the distributor of Louis C.K.'s "I Love You, Daddy" was canceled, as was a second Netflix stand-up special.

Since the New York Times published the report in which five women accused C.K. of inappropriate behavior including masturbating in front of them without their consent on Thursday, several other companies in business with C.K. are reevaluating their relationships. FX Networks and F.X.P. take all necessary actions to protect our employees and thoroughly investigate any allegations of misconduct within our workplace. Before taking a shot with FX, C.K. had tried with "Lucky Louie" at HBO and failed.

FX isn't the only platform to back away from light of the allegations.

In addition, the network also announced that they were removing all Louis' past projects from their On Demand services.

The comedian's publicist, Lewis Kay, announced last Friday that he no longer represents the comedian. At the time, she decided not to press the matter any further.

Pamela Adlon recently released a statement after her good friend and partner, Louis C.K., admitted to sexually assaulting multiple women in the past.

And it's not just collaborators who are backing away from C.K. Stars in the comedy world and Hollywood at large quickly reacted to the news on social media, voicing their disgust and concern.

"Sadly, I knew what most people knew". I won't defend him. Now is the time for him to honestly address the women who have come forth to speak about their painful experiences, a process which he began today with his public statement.

Louis C.K. performs during the 10th Annual Stand Up For Heroes Show at Madison Square Garden on November 1, 2016 in New York City.
