Hamas blasts UN envoy for 'biased' statements

Greenblatt Islamic Jihad threats 'significantly harm the people of Gaza'

Ten PIJ operatives, including two senior commanders, were killed during Israel's operation to destroy the tunnel. The batteries were deployed as part of the IDF's reinforcement efforts following the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's threats in response to the terror tunnel strike in Gaza.

Netanyahu's remarks came on the heels of a Saturday night Arabic-language video issued by Major General Yoav Mordechai, head of a defence ministry unit responsible for activities in the Palestinian territories. Any attacks by the Islamic Jihad will elicit a strong response, not only against them, but also against Hamas.

"We advise Islamic Jihad's leadership in Damascus to exercise caution and keep things under control".

The Israel Defense Forces blew up the tunnel, which originated in the Gazan city of Khan Younis and crossed into Israeli territory, near Kibbutz Kissufim, on October 30.

Vizag IndiGo Plane Hits Wild Boar During Takeoff , Airline issues statement
But the pilot could not land the flight immediately, as the rear wheel was damaged in the run-in and failed to retract. In what can be termed a miraculous escape, the disaster was averted after a wild boar hit the flight mid-takeoff.

According to Palestinian media, Hamas encouraged Islamic Jihad to abstain from retaliating both in order to prevent further escalation with Israel and to prevent the reconciliation talks it has been conducting with the Palestinian Authority from falling apart.

Israel has said it is holding the bodies of five fighters retrieved from the tunnel, and implied it could use them as bargaining chips to retrieve the remains of two soldiers believed to be held by Hamas. "In any case, we see Hamas as responsible for every attack that emanates from, or is planned against us in, the Gaza Strip", he said.

Referring to an agreement struck to end the 50-day summer conflict fought between Israel and armed Palestinian factions in the Gaza strip, the Islamist group added that, "the enemy forces are violating the ceasefire brokered by Egypt in 2014" and this, "exposes the true intentions of the Zionists".

Islamic Jihad responded to Israel's revenge-plot warnings on Sunday in a statement proclaiming the threats as a "declaration of war" and stating their intention to "punish" Israel for the deaths of its members in the destruction of an underground tunnel in Gaza last month.
