HItman Is Coming To Hulu, New Series Led By John Wick Creator

Hitman Agent 47 John Wick

They hope Hitman can become a "flagship series" thanks to the talent involved.

The Hitman show will be executive produced by Derek Kolstad, the creator of John Wick, one of the most beloved action movies ever. The first time was the universally-panned 2007 effort called "Hitman". Kolstad has already written a pilot for the show which will stream exclusively on Hulu with backing from Fox 21, 20th Century Fox's television production company.

The Hitman franchise has already churned out two major films - 2007's Hitman and 2015's Hitman: Agent 47 - from the team over at Fox and the Hulu series aims to take that presences and incorporated it into a fleshed out series. Neither film was received well critically.

Adrian Askarieh and Chuck Gordon are set to produce alongside Kolstad.

Aside from releasing the new Hitman GOTY edition, developer IO Interactive is expanding the franchise further. Revolving around the stoic Agent 47, a bald guy with a barcode tattoo on his skull nobody seems to notice, is all about creatively bumping off jerks who really have operatic deaths coming to them in some of the world's most glamorous locales. The movies need to find that creativity and really surprise the audience with the kind of freaky, overly planned kills that make the game so much fun. Hopefully, third time will be the charm for this franchise when it comes to live-action, as Agent 47 is a great character and the concept has a lot of potential if executed properly.

Television is a better fit for the Hitman franchise as it's an episodic game by its very nature. We will keep you updated on the latest developments.
