Facebook and Messenger will now share the same Stories

Facebook is killing Messenger Day and consolidating it with Facebook Stories

Facebook launches collaborative Stories for Groups and Events

Facebook first swiped the Snapchat feature with Instagram Stories, giving users on that service a way to publish content that is contained in an area accessible via a bubble.

They'll be able to post while inside Events and Groups, or get the option to share there on the Facebook Stories share sheet.

Facebook is also working on shutting off its Facebook Direct feature for the personal brief texting.

Social media giant Facebook announced the roll-out of a consolidated stories feature for all those part of the "events" and "groups" pages on the platform.

Zimbabwe army chief warns of intervention over party purge
But the 75-year-old former vice president has powerful military connections, having served as defence and state security minister. The crisis, he concluded, meant Zimbabwe was struggling with "cash shortages and rising commodity prices".

Facebook product manager Connor Hayes tells me the features "Give multiple people the opportunity to tell a Story from multiple different angles". It's also withdrawing the Facebook Direct messaging feature in favour of handling Stories replies and messages via Messenger, the report suggests.

The camera options for the apps would remain distinct from each other, while Facebook's is majorly focused on amplified reality masks and effects and that of the messenger is focused on stylizing and adding captions or friend invites for hangouts. As per him some individuals already were of the belief that the stories are connected, and we thought it would make sense.

Support for Facebook Stories in Groups and Events means that users can contribute relevant content in the form of videos and images, with the Story being moderated by the Group/Event administrators. Instead, all the responses, stories, and Facebook camera texts would be routed via Messenger. However, Stories from those spots won't be available in Messenger. People will see stories on their Event and Group pages, as well as atop their News Feed. While Instagram Stories was a massive success for the company, Facebook Stories and other products saw very little user adoption for obvious reasons: teens don't want to share their everyday life with their Facebook friends, and the majority of them don't even consider it to be a "cool" place anymore.
