Trump Jr. didn't respond.

Trump Jr. also responded to a Wikileaks message on an anti-Trump political action committee in September 2016, saying he'd "ask around"; he then emailed Steve Bannon, Kellyanne Conway, and brother-in-law Jared Kushner to see if they'd heard anything.

In one instance, on October 3, 2016, Wikileaks wrote to Trump Jr. saying, "It'd be great if you guys could comment on/push this story", and attaching a quote from Hillary Clinton about wanting to "just drone" Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. But the law seems pretty clear.

Throughout the 2016 election and for the better part of this year, WikiLeaks sent private messages via Twitter to the president's deadlifting adult son Donald Trump Jr., according to newly leaked correspondence first reported by The Atlantic.

In October, WikiLeaks sent Trump jnr a message: "Btw we just released Podesta Emails Part 4".

"We assess with high confidence that the GRU relayed material it acquired from the DNC and senior Democratic officials to WikiLeaks", the Office of the Director of National Intelligence wrote in a January 7, 2017 report.

Meanwhile, WikiLeaks continued to DM him, at one point asking him to leak them Trump Sr.'s tax returns to help the group "improve the perception of our impartiality", suggesting that Trump not concede the election if he loses, and after the election making the odd suggestion that the he should "suggest that Australia appoint Assange ambassador" to the US. "We have guessed the password". Trump jnr did not respond.

If Mr. Trump were to lose, WikiLeads said on November 9, 2016, "we think it is much more interesting if he DOES NOT conceed [sic] and spends time CHALLENGING the media and other types of rigging that occurred-as he has implied that he might do". "It's incredible what she can get away with", Trump Jr. reportedly replied.

"Already did that earlier today", Trump Jr. responded later that day. "There's many great stories the press are missing and we're sure some of your follows [sic] will find it", WikiLeaks continued, according to The Atlantic.

Two days later, Trump's running mate Mike Pence categorically denied that the Trump campaign had anything to do with Wikileaks' release of Hilary Clinton's campaign emails. The fact that so many on the campaign, including Don Jr., knew about this certainly makes it hard to believe Trump himself didn't also know.

She writes: "WikiLeaks made a series of increasingly bold requests, including asking for Trump's tax returns, urging the Trump campaign on Election Day to reject the results of the election as rigged, and requesting that the president-elect tell Australia to appoint Julian Assange ambassador to the United States".
