British ISIS recruiter Sally Jones has reportedly been killed in an air strike

It emerged last night that jihadi Sally Jones, known as the White Widow, died in a United States drone strike on the border of Syria and Iraq.

However, she - and possibly her son - were actually killed in June during an air-strike by a US Air Force Predator, The Sun reported.

The report claims Central Intelligence Agency chiefs informed United Kingdom counterparts of her death but news of the strike has been kept quiet amid concerns her 12-year-old son may also have been killed.

Sources said he was not specifically targeted and it remains unclear if he died, the newspaper reported.

US intelligence chiefs were quoted as saying they could not be 100 percent certain that Jones had been killed as there was no way of recovering any DNA from the ground, but they were "confident" she was dead.

Jones left Kent in the United Kingdom, along with her son, to join Isis in 2013.

Junaid Hussain died in August 2015, with the extent of his involvement in planning terror plots coming to light.

In one conversation with an undercover journalist, Jones detailed the materials needed to make a bomb and said she could help construct a device remotely.

The reported death has yet to be confirmed by official channels.

Jones operated numerous social media accounts and used them to recruit women to Isis.

Born in the Greenwich area of London, she posted extremist comments online such as: "You Christians all need beheading with a nice blunt knife and stuck on the railings at Raqqa".

Despite this, Sky News was told in June that the jihadist was not happy in Syria and wanted to return to Britain.

Jones: Her Twitter was full of propaganda.

One of the world's most wanted women, Jones, 50, was a poster girl for IS. "She told me she wish to go to her country".

Jones was claimed to have helped plot the ISIS kidnapping and filmed beheading of a U.S. army vet, while she was also allegedly involved in the planning of a foiled nightclub shooting.
