J&K 2 Terrorists gunned down in encounter with security forces in Hajin area of Bandipora

Almost 150 militants, including top commanders Sabzar Bhat, Junaid Mattoo, Ayub Lelhari, Bashir Lashkari, Abu Dujana, Mehmood Gaznavi and Umer Khalid, have been killed by security forces this year, which is the highest in the past eight years.

"The two Garud personnel were killed in action while operating with the Army for operational experience and training", the spokesman said.

At least two Indian Air Force commandos were killed as a result of the encounter with Kashmiri separatists in Bandipora district early Wednesday morning, according to Indian media reports.

The identity of militants, suspected to be from Pakistan-based Lashkar-a-Taiba, was yet to be ascertained.

Khalid, who is a Pakistani national, had been operational in the area for last two to three years and was also instrumental in arranging recruits for the terror outfit, police had said.
