Apple Reported to Team up With LG for Foldable iPhones Because Samsung Might Leak the Design

Apple teams up with LG Display for foldable iPhone

Today we're learning that "Apple has reportedly started working on a foldable iPhone with LG Display, not Samsung Display - the sole OLED supplier - possibly due to concerns over tech leaks to its archrival Samsung Electronics".

However, since LG Display's production capabilities are pale in comparing to Samsung's it might take a while for Apple to officially release the foldable iPhone. Apple's decision to go with LG may be an attempt to decrease its dependence on its biggest rival.

According to a report, the Samsung's new smartphone named "Samsung X" has passed South Korea's NRA certification or National Radio Agency. At the moment, Samsung now supplies the OLED panels for Apple's new iPhone X.

Apple Inc (Apple) designs, manufactures and markets mobile communication and media devices, personal computers, and portable digital music players, and a variety of related software, services, peripherals, networking solutions, and third-party digital content and applications. Now rumours have surfaced claiming that Apple is working with Apple for a foldable iPhone. But leading handset makers are apparently already busy developing the next-generation displays which will be foldable.

Sources say that panel production could start in 2020, meaning any sort of foldable iPhone could be launched the same year. Moon Capital Management LLC's holdings in Apple were worth $1,214,000 as of its most recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
