Varanasi, Sep 16 (PTI) A day before the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP workers today kicked off the celebration in his constituency by distributing candies and stationery to students of 129 primary schools. People of all age groups and from all walks of life were seen celebrating, especially in Surat, where a special event was organised.

Lavishing praise on Modi on his 67th birthday, Shah said the PM's life in many ways was a "personification of the spirit of India" and claimed his sensitivity towards the aspirations of the poor had led to "historic poverty alleviation initiatives taking shape at a scale unheard of in the history" of India. The cake had some of the most famous slogans of campaigns started by the prime minister.

According to the news from Varanasi, a day before Modi's birthday, BJP workers started celebrating his birthday by distributing candies and copies books in 129 primary schools.

Sportspersons like Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Suresh Raina also wished PM Modi On his birthday.

"I urge you all to organise or join any cleanliness initiative and share your photos on the Narendra Modi Mobile App", wrote Shah, in his blog.
