The 25-year-old has now been reintegrated back into the Liverpool squad and made his first start of the season in the 1-1 draw with Burnley yesterday. He was given a warm ovation before the game but, with Liverpool toiling, there was not much applause for him when his number was held up.

The Brazilian worldwide Coutinho had been linked with a move to Barcelona during the summer and the Catalan giants reportedly had a number of bids rejected for the player, including one that was worth £138 million.

'What happened was a job offer and, in life, sometimes you get interested, ' Coutinho told ESPN Brazil before he left Anfield.
