11 people injured after Porsche crashes into crowd at car show

At least 11 bystanders have been injured and taken to hospital after a man driving a Porsche smashed into a crowd following an auto show outside the Boise Spectrum Center in Idaho.

The incident happened about 11 a.m. Saturday as two events took place at the Boise Spectrum, a complex of movie theaters, shops and restaurants.

Police say the driver of the grey Porsche accelerated rapidly while leaving the Cars and Coffee event but lost control and ran into the nearby crowd. Hundreds showed up to view the unique cars on show and engage the drivers. Witness accounts earlier suggested the driver was ejected from the Porsche, but on video he is seen exiting the vehicle after it comes to rest on a sidewalk along Overland Road.

Witnesses told police the Porsche and some other drivers were "kind of showing off for the crowd" as they left the parking lot where the event is held and the driver lost control going too fast, LeBar said. People especially stopped by to see Cameron Moore and his Pro1 vehicle.
